Ninghai Bao (Ning-Hai Bao) is a professor with the School of Communication and Information Engineering, Chongqing University of Posts and Telecommunications. He is the director of Communication Network Testing Technologies Engineering Research Center of Chongqing Education Commission, the director of Chongqing “Chongyou - Huice” joint training base for postgraduates, and the expert of Chongqing Communication Society Information and Communication Industry Think Tank. He received a PhD degree in Communication and Information System from the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China in 2012, and had been a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Computer Science Department, University of California, Davis, CA, USA during 2013-2014, as well as a visiting scholar in Technische Universität Dresden, Germany in 2017.

Currently, he is undertaking four major courses taught in English, viz. “Fundamentals of communication network theory” and “Communication networking theory and analysis” for master and doctoral students respectively, “Modern communication networks” and “Telecommunication transmission theory and engineering” for undergraduates. He is recruiting and supervising master and doctoral students from both Chinese and international postgraduates. To date, he has presided over one National Natural Science Foundation Project and three provincial and ministerial level scientific research projects. He has also participated in another six national and provincial level research projects as principal researcher. He has published over twenty academic papers, co-authored one monograph, owned thirty granted invention patents, commercialized four patent achievements, and obtained one provincial science and technology progress award. He has been referees for multiple academic journals and conferences. His major research directions are “Intelligent construction and survivability of networks” and “Network convergence and edge computing”.
